Comments about Day 14:
We’re staying at this campsite for 3 nights so it was very relaxing to have a slow placed start to our day. Our breakfast of OJ, Polcari’s coffee, Barbara’s Oats with fresh blueberries, and peaches, and blueberry muffins was delightful. Our goal for today was to explore Park City. Although it’s very close to our campground, we chose the scenic route along the Aspen-lined Pine Creek Canyon Road over Empire Pass, elevation 8960 ft. This road brings you to the top of Deer Valley ski area. The climb was very steep with plenty of switchbacks, very reminiscent of the climbs in the Alps and the Pyrenees.
Park City was jamming; their weekly Sunday morning street festival packed the streets and parking was challenging. The blues rock band Skull Candy whose lead guitarist and vocalist was a Derek Trucks clone, entertained the crowds. We listened to three numbers and then headed to our lunch place which was recommended to us by Nick & Chetty, “High West”.
After lunch we re-entered the 90°+ sun of Main Street and battled the crowds for a while before returning to our van and heading to the Olympic Park where the ski jumping, luge, and bobsled events were held in the 2002 Winter Games. Comparing the host cities of Park City to Lake Placid is like comparing a dinghy to the Titanic. I prefer Lake Placid!

Joni is looking like Louise Penny on that hat.
