I'm trying something new with this blog, taking inspiration from "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?", one of the first children's computer games released in the floppy disk era, a long time ago in 1985.

Accordingly, I won't publish an itinerary in advance, nor any maps, just photos, and some occasional text. You'll have to guess where we've been, and, depending on cell service and internet access, I'll eventually let you know where we visited.

Feel free to record your guess in the comments section.

Day 12-July 23

Comments about Days 10 & 11:

I spent Thursday morning cycling 20+ miles around Dillon Resevoir which provides incredible views at every turn.  I thought I was in good cycling shape, but between the altitude and the hills I was whipped.  Exhausted from the climbs, I re-energized with a shower and we were soon on the road to Leadville, which is about 30 miles south of Frisco.

Leadville is unique.  It's certainly not Nantucket in terms of clientele, but it's just as busy.

Flashfloods were predicted, but we expected to be back in Frisco before those arrived.   Arriving in Leadville sometime around 1:30 PM, we immediately lunched at the Cafe on the Hill, then visited gift and bike shops before it started to sprinkle.

The rain picked up quite a bit and when we made the summit of Freemont Pass, there was snow on the ground. Yes, snow, and it still July!
