Comments on Day 7 Photos:
Leaving Lake Wilson State Park we continued our drive across the high plains of Kansas and into Colorado. The scenery is dominated by grain fields, grasslands, and the cathedral-like grain elevators that dominate the horizon.
Having driven these roads a lot, we opted to leave I-70 and follow US 40 toward Colorado Springs. At one point we saw a warning sign reminding us there are no service for the next 70 miles!
From Colorado Springs we headed into the mountains, eventually arriving at Alex and Alice's home in Frisco, Colorado, elevation 9100+ ft.

I'll bite. What's with the milk? Lovely granite and backsplash.
ReplyDeletePrior to arriving in Colorado, that milk carton was last opened when we camped at Wilson Lake State Park in Kansas, elevation 1500'. So the decrease in air pressure in Frisco, elevation 9100', caused the carton to expand.
DeleteI know you're enjoying the cooler drier weather; you've got sweatshirts on. Condo looks great !
ReplyDeleteBe careful with that milk. It looks like it's about ready to blow. Gary
The condo development looks very nice. Do you think the skies are cloudy because of the fires on the West Coast? The sunset here the other night was odd and we think one of the colors was impacted by the air this far east.
ReplyDeleteAlex says the cloudy skies are a definite result of the forest fires in the West.
DeleteLove the look of the condo. Bet that lake water just melted this morning. Never swam except in the apartment pool when I lived in Denver--too darn cold.
