On day 4 we covered 670 miles, probably our longest drive of this trip, leaving our campsite in Geneva by the Lake, Ohio by 5:50 AM, and arriving at 4 pm in my old hometown of St. Louis after a brief drive-by tour of the renovated homes of Indianapolis that are featured the HGTV series Good Bones.
After a delicious dinner at Charlie Gitto's, where they claim to have invented fried ravioli, we stopped at Ted Drews' for frozen custard and then headed to our campsite at Babler State Park, which is west of St. Louis in Wildwood, Mo.
The ribs look great! And I love the giraffes. Is that your old house in St. Louis? Glad you had sun for the ball game.
ReplyDeleteYou blitzed StL! Seems like you hit some of the area's best destinations. I especially liked your food choices and locations. Ted Drewes is the perfecct all-purpose nightcap for any kind of meal or after ballgame treat. Well done, sir.
ReplyDeleteAre you at the Las Angeles Zoo ? Several years ago I saw same animals at the Las Angeles Zoo.
ReplyDeleteI hope that wasn't giraffe meat on your plate....
ReplyDeleteSt Louis Zoo, I believe. Have you visited the Botanical Gardens there? They are spectacular. There is a magnificent Japanese Garden.
